On October 30, 2024, the Gwadar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) held a meeting with NAB Director General Mr. Nouman Aslam at NAB’s sub-office in Gwadar. This collaborative effort focused on addressing key business challenges and supporting initiatives aimed at enhancing trade and job opportunities in the region. The GCCI delegation included Senior Vice President Mr. Naeem Rasheed & Vice President Mr. Hanif Ahmed.
Key topics of discussion included the challenges faced by Gwadar’s seafood industry and border trade, along with the necessity to develop a skilled local workforce through technical training institutes. Mr. Naeem Rasheed highlighted the seafood sector’s current obstacles, emphasizing the need for sustainable approaches to drive industry growth. Vice President Mr. Hanif Ahmed addressed the difficulties traders encounter in border operations, voicing the concerns of those who rely on cross-border commerce.
Both GCCI and NAB affirmed their commitment to expanding job and business opportunities for skilled graduates from Gwadar’s technical institutes, discussing strategies to create a workforce equipped to support the region’s industries. These initiatives aim to provide local youth with career pathways within Gwadar’s evolving economy.
