GCCI Chairman Invites Central Asian Countries to Use Gwadar Port for Regional Trade
Islamabad – The Ambassador of Tajikistan hosted a meeting of Central Asian ambassadors in Pakistan, where the Group Chairman of the Gwadar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), Mir Naveed Jan Baloch, was also invited.
Speaking at the gathering, Mir Naveed Jan Baloch extended an open invitation to all Central Asian countries to begin their trade activities through Gwadar Port, highlighting its strategic role as a natural gateway for the region to access global markets. He emphasized that Gwadar offers unique opportunities for transit trade, logistics, fisheries, and industrial cooperation, which could strengthen economic linkages between Pakistan and Central Asia.
The ambassadors appreciated his invitation and acknowledged the importance of Gwadar for regional connectivity. They noted that if the Government of Pakistan provides the same facilities and incentives currently available to them in Iran, it would encourage Central Asian countries to route more of their trade through Gwadar.
The meeting concluded on a hopeful note, with both sides expressing confidence that closer cooperation will not only boost trade but also foster stronger cultural and economic ties.
Gwadar Chamber of Commerce and Industry reaffirmed its commitment to building bridges with Central Asia and positioning Gwadar as a hub of prosperity, integration, and shared growth.
