Gwadar Chamber of Commerce Delegation Meets CEO of Chabahar Free Zone — In-Depth Discussion on Bilateral Cooperation

A significant meeting was held at the Chabahar Free Zone office between a delegation from the Gwadar Chamber of Commerce and Iranian officials, during which various matters were discussed related to enhancing economic cooperation, promoting investment, and expanding cross-border trade between the two port regions.

The delegation from Gwadar Chamber included Amanullah Baloch, Jam, Khalid Murad, Abdul Ghafoor Kalmaty, Sharif Miyadad, and other members. Their participation represented the business community of Gwadar, and they contributed to discussions on several important points of mutual interest.

Dr. Mohammad Saeed Arbabi, Managing Director of Chabahar Free Zone, along with board members and other senior economic officials, also attended the meeting. The discussion covered a range of topics including investment opportunities in the Chabahar Free Zone, company registration processes, land allocation for investors, facilitation of visa procedures, ease of commercial travel, financial transactions, and the possibility of establishing an offshore bank.

It was mutually agreed that a “Chabahar-Gwadar Joint Coordination Committee” would be formed with representation from both port cities. This committee will actively work on resolving visa issues, enhancing border cooperation, supporting barter trade, and addressing shared investment concerns.

Additionally, it was decided that traders from Gwadar would be given preference in the barter market to be established in Chabahar, ensuring better opportunities for Pakistani entrepreneurs.

Dr. Arbabi highlighted the complementary role of the Chabahar and Gwadar ports, stating that together, they can play a vital role in connecting the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to Eurasia and Europe.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Gwadar Chamber of Commerce extended a formal invitation to the CEO of Chabahar Free Zone and his team to visit Gwadar, with the aim of further strengthening and operationalizing bilateral cooperation.
