Gwadar: President Gwadar Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Mr. Jeehand Hoth, warmly welcomed Collector Customs Appraisement Gwadar, Mr. Mushtaq Ali Shahani, during his official visit to the Pak-Iran border at BP-250 (Gabd).
The visit was aimed at reviewing ongoing border trade activities and promoting environmental initiatives. Collector Customs inspected operations at Customs Station BP-250 and nearby crossing points, directing officials to expedite the clearance process and resolve traders’ issues on priority. He emphasized that strengthening legal trade with Iran is vital for economic stability.
On this occasion, the Collector inaugurated the “Green Border” initiative by planting a sapling at the border. Additional Collector Muhammad Adnan Khan, Deputy Collector Muhammad Faizan Arif, Inspector Kunnar Bebagar Dashti, Ali Imran, and PA to Collector Hayat Murad also participated in the plantation drive.
President GCCI Mr. Jeehand Hoth appreciated the visit and highlighted that such high-level engagement would significantly improve trade facilitation at the Pak-Iran border, especially at BP-250 (Gabd), which holds strategic importance for regional and international trade.
Later, a meeting was held with local customs clearing agents, chaired by chairman border trade committee GCCI Mr. Shey Abdul Rasool, where key issues faced by traders were discussed and practical solutions were emphasized.
The visit is considered a positive step towards enhancing border trade and promoting eco-friendly practices. The event concluded with a group photo and directions to ensure proper care of the planted saplings.
